Plot: The World Unseen is a 2008 historical drama film written and directed by Shamim Sarif, adapted from her own novel. The film is set in 1950s Cape Town, South Africa during the beginning of apartheid. The film stars Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth as two Indian South African women who fall in love in a racist, sexist, and homophobic society.

Ray and Sheth also star together in another Shamim Sarif movie, I Can't Think Straight, released in November 2007.

The World Unseen was made with the assistance of the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa, which took a minority equity stake in the film.

Here are some of the new movies on my list:

* BE WITH ME *

Be with Me is a 2005 Singaporean drama film directed by Eric Khoo. The film is inspired by the life of deaf-and-blind teacher Theresa Poh Lin Chan. It premiered as the Director's Fortnight selection in the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. It was also the official entry from Singapore for the 78th Academy Awards in the foreign language category. In December 2005, the Academy body disqualified the film on grounds that it was not "foreign" enough as the dialogue is mainly in English. Out of 93 minutes, the film only has two and a half minutes of dialogue.

Be with Me is the first film in Singapore to explicitly feature a lesbian relationship.

* TULI (Tagalog) *

Tuli is a movie which talks about sexuality set is a small village in the mountains. It was released in 2005 and is directed by Auraeus Solito.

Set in a small village in the mountains, Daisy is the daughter of the town's mangtutuli and as she grows up her frustration with the life grows with her. She escapes this ill feelings by having a relationship with her female bestfriend Botchok. The two decides to have a baby and gets Botchok pregnant with the only man in their village not circumcised.

The three trends on a path where their gender roles is being ostracized by their village who follows many beliefs on what a specific gender must do and be.

* 48 SHADES *

Based on the award winning novel by Nick Earls, 48 Shades of Brown, this coming of age comedy is about a 16 year old, Dan, who must choose between going to Geneva with his parents for a year or move into a house with his young Aunt, Jacq, and her roommate, Naomi. He chooses the latter and now, in his final year of school has to come to terms with survival in an adult world and falling in love for the first time.

* MAKE A WISH *

Make A Wish tells the story of a group of women who get together once again for an annual birthday camping trip. The common denominator in this group of gay and straight girls is Susan: all of the campers are exes of hers. All except Andrea, who is Monica's new girlfriend, and not very pleased to be dragged along on this ridiculous outing. Linda, now straight, left her boyfriend Steve pouting at home, annoyed that she wanted to leave him for the weekend for a romp in the woods with the girls.

* SHE LIKES GIRLS 4: Tomboys & Tough Girls *

Tomboys and tough girls abound in this wonderful new installment in the She Likes Girls lesbian shorts series featuring eight terrific portrayals of girls who like girls!

Hi everyone!

LFlicks is now on it's 5th year :)

5 years of selling lesbian themed movies, tv series, and e-books.

It's been a while since i last updated this blog. I was busy with my so-called-life and busy with everything else. Still, a lot of people continued to support me and understood my very busy schedule and patiently waited for their orders. And i really thank all of you for that.

Even anyone can now watch their favorite movies online, still a lot of you guys still opted to have their own copy of their favorite movies so they can watch it over and over again. Some even buy this as a gift for their friend or loved ones. I even have a straight male and female customers who bought their copies also to give out as a gift to their lesbian friends.

The customers that's been buying from my site is now from all over the Philippines. Before, mostly are just from Metro Manila/Rizal and nearby provinces, but now, i'm receiving orders from Visayas and Mindanao. And i'm glad that the lesbian movies that i have, which just started as a personal collection, now reaches to every OUT bro/sis around the country.

Thank you for trusting LFlicks for 5 years and i hope i'll have more time for this site so we'll have updated movie list.

We will be posting Asian Lesbian Themed Movies (mostly with english subtitles). BUT, these are all PC-format. These are not playable on your usual dvd players. You will be needing media players on your computers/laptop to be able to view it.

I also want to apologize for some unanswered emails / texts because of my hectic work schedule. As some of you may know, LFLICKS is just my "hobby" and not a full-time, bread&butter sideline or business. So whenever i have enough free time, i can accommodate orders.

Butch Jamie

After watching Howard's acting reel, Jamie is ready to rise to the challenge and prove to herself that she can be more successful than a stupid cat. Jamie's best friend David convinces her that the way to do this is to simply be yourself, which in Jamie's case, is what she refers to as "Butch Jamie" -- short hair spiked up with gel, Doc Martin boots, a studded belt, and a neck chain. This unintentionally tips Jamie's perceived gender in the opposite direction, and she gets offered a role in a film as a man - Steve. Offended by the reality that there is little room for butch women in show biz, Jamie is reluctant to take the role, but accepts. Under the producer's requests, she is bound to confidentiality as Male Jamie and cannot reveal her true identity as a woman. On set, Jamie confronts a whole new set of hoops to jump through as a male imposter. "He" meets a flirtatious and alluring straight woman named Jill, and despite Jamie's better judgement, the two begin a hilariously complicated and sexy affair.

Plot Outline: "Nikki and Nora" is the lesbian cop show that never was. Unfortunately, it was never picked up by the network, but the pilot has made its way into the hands of the lucky few. Nora Delaney (Christina Cox, Better Than Chocolate) and Nikki Beaumont (Liz Vassey) are partners in the New Orleans police department, but they are also partners of another kind - lovers.

The two are detectives in the NOPD Special Crimes Unit, and the show is full of New Orleans- specific locations and culture. Nikki is from old money, while Nora comes from a working class family, and her brother is a street cop. A running conflict involves their boss, who has a thing for Nora. She doesn't feel as if she can be out at work or with her family, while Nikki pressures her to let both know they are a couple.

The plot of the pilot involves the usual cop show setup, nothing too unusual, but there are a few nice moves like a slide over a car from Cox (who did stunts for Million Dollar Baby). When the day is over, the dynamic duo unwind with a bath together - definitely not usual network tv fare, and after the bad guy is finally cuffed, they're off for a night on the town, sealing the last shot with a kiss.

Alicia had also begun to flirt with Hadley's boyfriend, and they ended up having sex. This infuriated Hadley, who starts to resent Alicia. When Alicia got a job from Hadley's father, Hadley, who was supposed to get the job before Alicia did, raises her hatred of Alicia.

The private investigator's findings lead him to much confusion and different theories, until near the end he learns it was Hadley who tried to kill Alicia. Hadley gets arrested after her class' graduation.

Annabelle (the smoldering Erin Kelly), a senior, is a rebellious rocker chick--the Beverly Hills version that is, i.e. highlighted hair, black eyeliner, and nose ring. Her senatorial mother ships her off to boarding school to shape up. Annabelle's hard-partying ways are starting to become an embarrassment. Miss Simone Bradley (the sympathetic Diane Gaidry) is a popular poetry teacher. She's a Catholic. Annabelle is not. Simone has a boyfriend, Annabelle is gay. Looks can be deceiving, however, and there's more to both than meets the eye. For one, Simone's relationship is not as secure as it appears. For another, Annabelle's ardor is so relentless it threatens to sway sympathy against her. She seems to have no regard for the damage an affair would inflict on her teacher's career. Nonetheless, Simone is not entirely resistant to her charms. Inspired by 1931's Mädchen in Uniform, writer/director Katherine Brooks preserves the forbidden relationship at the heart of the Weimar-era classic, but drops the political subtext. Consequently, she doesn't take on more than she can handle, but Loving Annabelle still feels a little slight.

She uses her trademark goofiness to ruminate on the necessity of directions on shampoo bottles, ant road rage, and the possible nightmarish consequences of buying cheese. While the performance is not orientation-specific, the comedienne spends a fair amount of time on sex-related issues, including jokes about blow-up dolls and people who videotape their relations. She does venture into the political with an appeal for same-sex marriage and a monologue on meeting God, who turns out to be a middle-aged black woman. None of this fazes her clearly supportive audience at New York's Beacon Theatre who get to ask her questions at the end a la Carol Burnett. The best moment of the 65-minute performance for HBO comes at the end, when DeGeneres accidentally exhibits some gender confusion with a young audience member, who then pays her moving tribute as a role model.

And that is the first big plus: these are characters it's possible to care about. This is a more well-rounded Kim, one who might seem like a confident teenager but is wracked by doubt, terrified that her parents will split up, and doesn't know what the hell to do about her feelings for Sugar. And Sugar herself is so much more than her literary equivalent; she genuinely cares for her friend.
